This curriculum was developed in partnership with the University of Houston’s Environmental Institute of Houston for use by teachers at the San Jacinto Battleground State Historical Site. The interpretive trail takes visitors through endangered coastal prairie, across tidal marshes, and through bottomland hardwood forests. The curriculum is designed to provide information, a field guide, tools, and activities to educators who desire to introduce their student to the wonders of locally, ecologically, and historically important habitats. Utilizing environmental education as a teaching tool allows students to see the natural world through multiple disciplines, engaging and increasing their knowledge and skills in the sciences, math, English, reading, and art. Professional Development day 1 - $800, Eco-Art Adventure via walking $600 and copy of curriculum $20.
