Artist Boat

FotoFest’s Literacy Through Photography (LTP) has developed JUST A DROP - W A T E R Curriculum for students to:
1)      connect important regional water issues to themselves, their community and their planet,
2)      communicate their ideas and impressions about water issues through the artistic medium of photography and writing, and
3)      share perceptions and concerns about water issues through their photography and writing.

Curriculum Description
The LTP 2003-2004 Water Curriculum consists of classroom and home activities that enhance students' knowledge about water resources and encourage them to explore and express their views on water issues in their home and community.  These hands-on activities are designed for students to develop writing and photography skills, embrace critical thinking processes, document and express their knowledge about water issues, and discover what water is in our world. As a result of teacher implementation of the curriculum, FotoFest will exhibit participating students’ collages at public venues in Houston.

Curriculum Components
The W A T E R Curriculum includes information and resources about current water issues, four lesson plans, a guide to FotoFest 2004, images on CD, camera information, and a TAKS/TEKS lesson alignment chart.
