Devin Taylor, Eco-Art Educator

Devin received a bachelor's of science in environmental biology from UC Davis. After this spell of schooling, he spent many years working in the Galapagos, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the U.S. with birds – including two seasons in the Alaskan Arctic, while using Davis, CA as his base station between these travels. He first worked for Artist Boat during 2004–2006 finding it a good fit for his science interests and crafty skills (he also attended Oregon School of Arts and Crafts). His interest in science education brought him to UC San Diego for a year of graduate school and he has recently returned from there to rejoin Artist Boat’s team of educators. He is an ACA certified kayak instructor, a past Wilderness First Responder, enjoys scuba, photography, and visiting friends in distant lands, and tries to juggle his other interests while also pursuing his daily work with students of all ages both in classrooms and outdoors. He is happy to have found a niche at the diverse organization that Artist Boat represents and enjoys living on Galveston Island. Devin rejoined Artist Boat in April of 2009.
