Born and raised in Ohio, Aly has a deep-rooted love of many different ecosystems.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Art Therapy with a concentration in drawing and a minor in psychology from the University of Saint Francis, Fort Wayne. While completing her coursework she was inspired by the landscape and beauty she saw on Biology Field Study strips to the Southwest and the Smoky Mountains. She then decided to further her education in the environmental field and received her Master of Arts in Environmental Education in 2017 from Goshen College, Indiana. Her love of the arts influenced her Master’s project where she developed and delivered an ephemeral arts-based place-based environmental education program for a local school and adapted it to deliver at local schools in Andros, Bahamas.
She joined Artist Boat in 2017 and is thrilled to work at such a place whose mission is in tune with her personal mission: to inspire people to learn about and love the land through the use of art.
