Andrea Russell

Originally from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Andrea Russell graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology in 2018 from Texas A&M University at Galveston. During her time as an undergraduate student, she maintained many part-time jobs and held officer positions in on-campus clubs she was involved in. Some of her favorite club activities were volunteer work at the Texas State Aquarium, Sea World San Antonio, and Fossil Rim Wildlife Refuge.

Upon graduation, she spent two years as a fishery observer in Alaska collecting viable data to report to NOAA’s National Marine Fishery Services (NMFS) in order to ensure the sustainability of commercial fishing. During this time, she would spend up to 90 days at a time living and working among commercial fishing vessels in the beautiful Bering Sea.

Being in constant awe by nature, her creativity for art and capturing natural beauty continues to grow. Whether it be painting, drawing, sewing, music, or anything in between, she is often found amidst a project. Andrea joined Artist Boat in May of 2021 and is excited to have the opportunity to combine all of her favorite things: art, natural science, outdoor activities, and connecting with the public.
