Grace Grimes
Grace Grimes grew up in MetroDetroit; the quirky outdoor art installments and murals throughout the city were one of her first introductions to art. From 2016-2019, she earned a B.S. in Biology in the snowy U.P. of Michigan. When not in school, she worked several jobs: as a kayak guide on the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, rock climbing instructor for elementary to high-school students, and as a digital production team member for a local photography studio.
Summer 2019, Grace worked on a 3-acre heirloom grain and vegetable farm in SouthWest Colorado. Here, she learned the importance of saving seeds, creating community, and sharing food. After this experience, she returned to her hometown to assist in growing the local agricultural economy; She accomplished this goal by working at a unique consignment model year-round every-day farmer’s market built from an abandoned gas-station.
Grace is passionate about the intersections between art and science and joined the Artist Boat team in December 2020. She is excited to learn and grow with the organization!
