Shannon Ainsworth

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Shannon Ainsworth spent her summers camping with her family at the Galveston Island State Park. Those days at the beach nurtured her love for marine life and led to her decision to attend Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG) for Marine Biology. She completed both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Marine Biology and graduated in December of 2021.

During her time at TAMUG, Shannon participated in volunteer work on campus and in the community, worked a part time job, and got involved in on-campus organizations. One of her favorite experiences was her semester abroad in Adelaide, Australia. This sparked a love for travel, and she went on to complete an internship with Utila Coral Foundation in Utila, Honduras. She has had the amazing opportunity to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef and throughout the Caribbean, which has only strengthened her love for the ocean. Her passion for marine life and creativity led her to Artist Boat in March 2022.

Outside of Artist Boat, Shannon enjoys scuba diving, reading new books, relaxing at the beach, traveling and exploring, finding new coffee shops, and adding plants to her collection. She is very excited to combine her passions, share her love of the ocean, and make new connections with Artist Boat!
