Beautify the Bucket Art Competition, Spring 2020 CANCELLED

Due to the current global situation, the Spring event has been canceled. Keep your buckets, if you have them and check back for the Fall Competition!
Then you can come to see all of the Beautified Buckets and Vote for your Favorite in the “Peoples Choice” Awards.
The Beautify the Bucket Art Competition allows participants to take an active role in beautifying Galveston beaches and improving stewardship behaviors. Participants are asked to paint a blue trash barrel destined for Galveston beaches based on a theme: ocean organisms, marine debris, coastal and marine ecosystems, or Galveston recreational activities. After the competition, the barrels will be added to Galveston’s beaches where they will be enjoyed by visitors and encourage proper disposal of trash to reduce aquatic trash.
Competitions are hosted to coincide with the Adopt-A-Beach Coast-wide Cleanup events. Please sign up with the Texas General Land Office and make a day of keeping our beaches clean & pristine! https://texasadoptabeach.org/
The registration period is over. Trash Barrels are limited and are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Viewing and judging are held, 8 am to noon, at Menard Park, in Galveston, Tx on:

Beach cleanup crews collected more than 2 million pounds of debris in 2018, according to the Galveston Park Board of Trustees. Artist Boat partners with the Park Board to emphasize environmental education, recycling and beach beautification with a number of programs, including Beautify the Bucket.
