Due to the nature of the camps, sessions are designed for children ages 5 to 10. Registration is required and spaces are limited to 12 students to ensure small camp size and individual attention.

SPRING BREAK – GULF MANIA – DAY CAMP SCHEDULE
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Daily
Monday – March 9th
Shark Day
Learn about how the sharks found in the Gulf use camouflage to blend in with the water around them and create an acrylic painting of your favorite.
Tuesday – March 10th
Whale Day
Learn how whales stay warm as they dive to deep depths to chase their prey through experiments and hands on demonstrations.
Wednesday – March 11th
Fish Day
Learn how fish mouths and teeth tell us what they eat and create clay sculptures of your favorite Gulf fish.
Thursday – March 12th
Invertebrate Day
Learn about the wide variety of animals without bones floating in the Gulf and create paper Jellyfish and Coral sculptures.
Friday – March 13th
Gulf Food Webs
Learn who eats who in this last day of camp that looks at all the animals living in the Gulf and create food web headbands.

June 8-12
Paint like Van Gogh
Van Gogh is famous for his plein air landscape paintings. Students will get to learn more about this famous artist and experience the joys of painting landscapes outdoors and making nature journals.
June 15-19
Under the Microscope
Come learn about the unique microscopic world just beneath our nose! Campers will get hands-on experience using microscopes and learning the different functions, as well as get the chance to create their very own clay plant or animal cell.
June 22- 26
Feathers and Flowers
There is no shortage of beautiful birds and flowers to see at the Coastal Heritage Preserve! Campers will explore and paint like John James Audubon, while learning all about the wildlife from the soil to the sky!
June 29- July 3
Whale of a Time
We whaley hope your kids will join us to discover new things about the gentle giants of the Gulf of Mexico. Campers will create an acrylic painting on canvas, an ink monoprinting, and build a whale tail out of clay!
July 6- 10
Sea of Change
Hold on to your hats! Campers will explore how weather and climate shape our seas and oceans all around us and create high quality art projects that reflect the movement seen in nature!
July 13-17
Shark Tales
CHOMP! Your kids can learn more about these misunderstood creatures that lurk in the Gulf of Mexico through a Dogfish Shark dissection! Kids will come home with a plaster-sculpted shark head and some clay shark teeth.
July 20-24
Fun Fishing Adventure
Spend the week fishing with us! Kids will learn different fishing techniques like how to seine, throw a cast net, and go crabbing! Students will also dissect a perch and learn the ancient art of fish printing
July 27- 31
Turtle Time
Bring your children to have a turtley awesome time learning about the life of the turtles in the Gulf of Mexico. Campers get to sculpt a clay coral reef, create a tissue paper turtle shell mosaic, and build a jellyfish in a bottle!
August 3-7
Big Bug Week
They may be small, but they are mighty fun. That’s right, we love learning about the bugs on the prairie! We will spend the week catching these creatures and learning about why they are so important. Students will bring home a bug house and bug sculpture of their very own!

Camp Requirements
Be prepared to spend all day outside!
We will be spending all 7 hours of camp in a non-climate controlled barn and outside. Please have your camper dressed appropriately for the weather.
What to bring:
- Show up wearing shoes for walking outside. NO Flip flops, Crocs, or Rain-boots!
- Bring at least 64 oz. of drinking water, lunch, and snacks, NO sodas
- Signed waiver
Due to the nature of Artist Boat’s new camp curriculum,
the current Eco-Art Camps are open to students that have completed Kindergarten and through the 5th Grade.
Each camp session is limited to 12 campers.
Artist Boat’s number one priority is the safety of all guests.
Artist Boat is committed to following the recommendations from recognized health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
